My work hovers around spinning intriguing stories. As a content writer, I develop website text and recruitment materials showcasing schools. My promotional pieces are embracing narratives that inform and attract families as well as investors. I pen speeches, newsletters, brochures, press releases, and award applications as a ghost writer for school administrators. I also mentor upperclassmen, adding zest to their often-timorous scholarship applications. I’m fortunate to have collaborated with exemplary educators; lifelong learners who leave their doors open to new skills and fresh knowledge. It is the perfect environment for an emerging novelist.
The Remy Lane mystery series reflects my fascination with the relics and ruins littering the landscape of England, Wales, and Scotland. I’ve driven down so many of their back roads, embraced by people with deep historical roots and an amazing talent for storytelling. My passport, suitcase, and wellies anxiously await another trip across the moody moors and rugged coastlines where getting lost often leads me to the best discoveries. On a personal note, I live in the American Midwest. I'm happiest when wandering the Lake Michigan shoreline or traveling abroad. I favor historical sites and adore museums but avoid their gift shops. (My home already overflows with artwork and antiques.) I’m intrigued by articles on art fraud, archeology, and the illegal trade of cultural antiquities. When I'm not writing, I enjoy the dry wit of British comedies, the rich texture of period-piece productions, and the glamour of 1940s televised mysteries. Who doesn't love The Thin Man? |
